State of Affairs, U.S.A., Circa June 2022

Updated: Jul 15, 2022

Regardless of present Americans’ political leaning (temperament), and their resultant Philosophy and Ideals in life, the USA is presently in a civil war. The various sides and competing factions are past the point of talk, debate, or compromise, and have come to their own conclusions, lined up in their own formations, and work towards their own aims, predicated on their own beliefs and values that diverged from a more singular point of origin.

Due to the nature of all civil wars for all time - the confusion and uncertainty, the small amount of participants it takes to destabilize an entire nation, the emotions that drive people to irrationality and destruction, and in relation and proportion to the disagreed upon, dissolving yet crowded, mushy modern American English Language; the values reflected and inverted in said language; and modern propaganda warfare (what is euphemistically called “5th generational warfare”); the country and the people cannot name or agree to the fact that what we are witnessing is a civil war in the first place. This is in part conscious, for naming the problem implies and necessitates action, but foremost, admitting to such a massive and pervasive problem, and all its attendant corruption, would make the problem all too real, and what present sufferers have ever cared to divine such an odious future? This denial and doublespeak in refusing to name this civil war is also subconscious, due to the fact that such an admission would be bad for both business, and image, namely that such an admission is a spider in the ear to America's many strains of sweet, seductive, yet mythological notions of freedom, liberation, equality, and so forth.

Most Americans, in fact, don't understand that this is happening, in either the question of "how," or "why," but many do understand and suspect that something is vaguely or gravely wrong as they witness the convulsions of many recurrent forces and motions long ago set moving.

As it stands, this war is not being fought in a manner hitherto known, though much remains constant and familiar in the universals of arms races, i.e., the change of form and method from larger battlefields, to nuclear formations, to insurgency, and onward to control of man through media and propaganda. War in this environment with this technology has never been seen or waged at this scale and through these means, thus this new civil war received the doublespeak title of 'culture war' or 'immanent fascist takeover' a few years ago (and many other names and descriptors), which is an example on the division in perception and language, and the discrepancies in values in the U.S.A.'s heavily divided country, culture, and language (culture here being defined as institutions and their interlocking rings and controls, that which binds and bars the individuals that comprise the population of a state, regardless of their beliefs and opinions, of which the notion of smaller cultures or subcultures may or may not depend upon the larger culture).

Most of the fighting and language in this New American Civil War thus far is still passive-aggressive and highly manipulative. Like all modern wars, it has had and will continue to have far and long reaching consequences, exemplified and broadcast online everyday from the internet here, to the news, and in the education system as well - and the politics themselves have come to dominate the culture and its productions, the most infatuated being the fighters themselves - and this decadent cultural miasma has spread outward in the West and beyond. To be clear, I don’t base this on the opinions or beliefs of any contemporary thinkers or writers, nor do I base it on modern politics and the majority of its day-to-day frustrations and "firestorms" that amount to little and little memorable in terms of history and man, nor do I base it on any other related contrivances, but ancient history, namely in Thucydides (unless of course one wants to say Thucydides is a liar or a traitor, that he was the problem, in which case, the point is clearly made).

Americans also call the present American conflict a "collapse," which may also be true in certain definitions and contexts [the supernova of god's death further catching up to America, rampant nihilism, destructive behavior as a result, hopelessness, hope in false idols, of which all effects and results will continue to be felt by the rest of the Western world and beyond], but out of this collapse comes the civil war, or, if collapse was the stem that was planted to grow in this soil, then civil war is the flower [a decadent society: Christianity, democracy, slavery, revolution - the perpetuation of an insuperable morality], but the reason why this can’t and won’t be named as a civil war right now, despite the murmurings and writing of the same notion at present, is the very language, values and ideals on which this war is predicated aren’t even clearly understood, defined, or agreed upon by those on the same side, let alone opposing sides, even if their fundamental positions are clear to themselves and everyone else. Hence there is no linguistic or similar understanding, or place, to even realize or state, that this is a civil war. Plenty else is bad for business at present, other euphemisms will work in the meantime (and yes, the Tower of Babel easily comes to mind), and what everyone can observe beyond all doublespeak in the USA, is how the people themselves have been thinking, speaking, and behaving. In this manner, all doublespeak reveals itself: there is no such thing as “radicalization,” rather, people simply decide on their side (or, people are realizing their temperament, even when manifest in nature's unseen and unknown state instinct, and how this is sublimated into all ideological, religious, and political philosophies). People are reacting, and then reacting to the reacting, the temperature and emotions mixed with a few other reagents and technology has made for a volatile heaving - each side's state instinct is frustrated by the other, and often by their own side, and they don't even know or see this - but they do feel it, they feel afraid, and they react in accordance with said feelings. Lack of thought and reflection, the inability to not react, has always given vulgarity and unmanliness their names and undesirable nature in definition. "A lack of honor" and "shame" are no different. This reacting itself has become one of the highest values, generally the more violent and unthinking, the supposedly "better." This is only the collapse and inversion of one crucial value - eschewing level-headedness and encouraging unmanly, reactive, shrill, noisy, violence and protest that is largely symbolic and even then, meaningless, as protest is fast reaching the end of its lifespan in the face of mass forces of state, corporation, technological dictators and power groups, and various ideological formations and their defects. Now begin sorting [revaluating/transvaluating all values] through the rest of the culture: there is no "information" or "disinformation,” or even "fake news," only warfare - this is the Will of State and People, a necessary convulsion to avert suicide from a long war-like and hungry people. For historical perspective, Sitting Bull had the new America's number when he said, "This place could have been twice as big, and it still wouldn't be big enough." Many matters in America were that clear, transparent, and visible from the beginning.

But the most concrete and definitive proof of this civil war is when the inversion of language, values, and institutions themselves reaches the highest offices in the lands, i.e., a Supreme Court justice can’t or won't define a word as simple, basic, yet crucial as “woman,” as in her own words, "She is not a biologist." If you look closely, this almost sounds like a hostage speaking - ma'am, who will hurt you or attempt to hurt you if you speak wrong? More so, if you can't define the term "woman," who isn't a term but a living being, and if in essence, no one can define woman, how can said supreme court justice rule on matters which effect woman? To which the answer is already apparent - there is no woman, just like there is no man, or at least, there is no woman or man that can't be further domesticated by, assimilated into, and finally, there is no "man" or "woman" that can't be redefined to be used by the state for its purposes and ends.

This is to say, it is clear that the trenches have been thoroughly dug inwards, and all positions, even when moronic and mentally ill, are well fortified, which is part of the sickness - the clinging of the dying, to that which is dying - the lack and inability to transvaluate our values, to understand our values, to live by values, which might be an ugly impossibility in a perniciously cosmopolitan world run on pragmatism and utilitarianism. While dated values, ideals, and ideas are more apparent in conservatives, especially where they are blind and ineffectual, even liberals and progressives are living in and operating out of millennia and centuries old caves, many of which will soon be bulldozed, redeveloped, remonetized, and likely shifted to some online metaverse.

Aside this morass of cultural values, a poorly educated and largely illiterate populace, the rest that follows, from a botched supreme court assassination attempt to the small-scale and larger scale violence in the streets over the last few years; so many protests and riots that no one can keep track anymore; the large demographic changes as wealthier Americas flee state to state; the disagreements and leveraging of all large powers from presidential dictates to supreme court decisions; a new black hole of a proxy war to protect monied political interests in Ukraine; to all the bloated and idiotic blithering of our elected officials, their petty squabbles, their inability to act, their inability to not react, speaks to the degeneracy of American culture [institutions and government], as well as degradation of a people's physiology, from the base of the education system, to the highest level of government, Americans are still living not just a Cinderella existence, but a schizoid mythology at that. The weakness and degeneration of our largely parasitic ruling class (ages of democracy produce such actors) is apparent for the world to see, and the resultant cynicism and hopelessness further compounds the lack of faith Americans have in themselves, each other, the state, and the sort of sea sponges and invertebrates that pass as "leadership" in America, where said leadership has proven they can't speak honestly about our problems, let alone address them in any meaningful manner. The longer the war goes on, the more exhausted and miserable its people and proponents become, which is in part strategic aim itself when fighting in 5th generational warfare. The sooner morbidity and exhaustion set in, the sooner any animal's spirit is broken, tamed, made docile, the sooner they can be mounted, employed, corralled, disposed of, or whatever the case may be.

Our media has long been making a killing on the killing - bad news is good for business. Most journalists and even private social media platform pundits prop themselves up as freedom fighters and purveyors of truth, when in reality, they are delusional, and their position, salary, and attraction to them are due to the lucrative business of media existing to sell advertising space, typically exploiting that which tittilates, entices, and inflames - people can't help but NOT react, especially given America's formerly morbid television addiction turned phone and internet addiction. Most of these journalists and pundits are neither truth-seekers nor freedom fighters, they are average agents of the average, for the average, who are generally the toothy smiles and nice heads of hair not paid to have personality, character, values, standards, or rigor, but to be middle-men to sell more products, or in the case of individual social media attention-seekers, they are the product and middle-man, and they advertise for a lot of the same large business and media they both utilize and complain about. Like the US government itself, the journalist and social media hack suffer from the same problem - they have no interest in solutions - real money is in the perpetual problems. As the kids say, "Don't ask questions, just consume more product, and be excited to consume more new product."

It seems the one thing Americans can count on is the dishonest, disingenuous, and carefully tailored reporting on these matters (of state and conflict), which is all par for the course and common to all wars, even as language and communication changes, and people disagree that perceptions are or aren't what they supposedly proport to be. Alongside a word like "woman," that “man” and “masculinity” are also open targets further reveals the conflict, but this wouldn’t be the first war that is ironically fought under monikers and labels of everything it is not - "noble," "progress," or even "good, moral, and just."

Yet, for a conflict based primarily on deception and the perception that there is no conflict, or that the conflict is not what it seems, or where there is conflict, it is a matter of manifest destiny - for all the doublespeak and euphemism and algorithmic control of language and media, the general perniciousness of public opinion, for a real eye inwards, just look to what the American people themselves say about each other, the language used, the violence encouraged, the violence committed, and the picture should be even more clear. America has always been a warlike and hungry nation and people, and they need this present war too, but given the mendacious race swindle, and division, after division, after division after this, it's natural that the pace and heat would pick up further, and that all components in this collapse of people, values, institutions, and their very physiology, would set the stage, and play out as the recurrent rhythms in time and space, or, history that we name and describe after the fact. As for the American cultural situation at present, people have been wanting to go back to "normal," and have been begging for the chaos and behavior to stop, but given the depth, breadth, and width of the innumerable problems, the real trouble has hardly begun. The primordial regression we witness in the bad artists of gender identity, or proponents of Capitalistic or Marxist revolution and freedom on either side, is just one of many failsafe repressive mechanisms for the individual psyche, and just as the individual has their's, so the nation has such a false image of itself, but this will only last until the money and resources has been milked dry, and America reaches its next untenable yet viable nadir (the term "viable" here used to say, "there are no other options or ways out").

The people and politicians have been past talking past each other for a while now, yet due to the need to keep up appearances, they cannot and will not admit it - and these players have arrived at very different conclusions based on different values based on different expressions and aims, yet, as a nation at war with itself for inevitable and necessary reasons, one sided ideals are always dead ends, often a cave from some previous century or millennia, as it is, the left and right are two legs on the same blind man, and at present, still, there is not a single new idea, aim, or purpose on the horizon. For perpetually and blindly pushing towards a vague notion of victory and an even more poorly defined notion and belief in "progress," there is simply no getting rid of the other leg, but the people have made clear for a while now that they don't want to live alongside such people. The phrase "good fences make good neighbors" is American through and through. Most damning in the present American civil war, is that weakness, reactiveness, unmanliness, the inability to not react, have become synonymous with “good” and “brave,” betrayed by the fact that "fighting the power" is an utterly mundane position, even the slogan of corporate and governmental America itself (The Dodge Rebellion, the Pepsi Revolution, ad nauseum), but is largely symbolic and empty gesture in blind service of nature's state instinct from a frightened population. More so, fighting the power is now symbolic of the individual, and even the herd's helplessness to all the mass forces that overwhelm them day by day. "Fighting the power," outside doublespeak,, is nothing more than an individual's or collective's prisoner's conditions: their fight against power, is a personal fight against their perceived (felt and known) powerlesness.

This same population is further powerlessness before mass forces that are beyond even the government’s control (ie., technology and other competing groups and powers). There is no coherent or stable hierarchy in such a position, there simply can't be, made clear in the manifestation of the cultural, social, and linguistic divides, of which, all readers would do well to keep in mind that members of a family or larger community are not always happy, at peace, or desiring to remain in said family or community, or desiring to seek or keep peace. This is all to say, the populace themselves don't understand nature's state instinct inside them, nor do they understand what it has in store for them. One of the most amazing yet spookiest features of humanity, has been the ability to think, believe, live, and act in a manner that is steeped in utter fallacy, illogic, errors of knowledge and belief, or unreason, yet humanity continues to survive on, regardless of quantity and quality of life within such errors and fallacies. In other terms, humanity has long been said to be asleep at the wheel, and in America, they cannot and will not wake up from the nightmare they have truly created for themselves, at least not yet. For a country that pioneered reality TV, this is perhaps all too real.

To cite the matter in history, here is Thucydides III 69-85

(The Civil War at Corcyra):

"…So bloody was the march of the revolution, and the impression which it made was the greater as it was one of the first to occur. Later on, one may say, the whole Hellenic world was convulsed; struggles being every, where made by the popular chiefs to bring in the Athenians, and by the oligarchs to introduce the Lacedaemonians [the Spartans]. In peace there would have been neither the pretext nor the wish to make such an invitation; but in war, with an alliance always at the command of either faction for the hurt of their adversaries and their own corresponding advantage, opportunities for bringing in the foreigner were never wanting to the revolutionary parties. The sufferings which revolution entailed upon the cities were many and terrible, such as have occurred and always will occur, as long as the nature of mankind remains the same; though in a severer or milder form, and varying in their symptoms, according to the variety of the particular cases. In peace and prosperity, states and individuals have better sentiments, because they do not find themselves suddenly confronted with imperious necessities; but war takes away the easy supply of daily wants, and so proves a rough master, that brings most men's characters to a level with their fortunes. Revolution thus ran its course from city to city, and the places which it arrived at last, from having heard what had been done before, carried to a still greater excess the refinement of their inventions, as manifested in the cunning of their enterprises and the atrocity of their reprisals.

Words had to change their ordinary meaning and to take that which was now given them.

Reckless audacity came to be considered the courage of a loyal ally;

prudent hesitation, [became] specious cowardice;

moderation was held to be a cloak for unmanliness;

ability to see all sides of a question, [became] inaptness to act on any.

Frantic violence became the attribute of manliness; cautious plotting, a justifiable means of self-defence.

The advocate of extreme measures was always trustworthy; his opponent a man to be suspected. To succeed in a plot was to have a shrewd head, to divine a plot a still shrewder; but to try to provide against having to do either was to break up your party and to be afraid of your adversaries. In fine, to forestall an intending criminal, or to suggest the idea of a crime where it was wanting, was equally commended until even blood became a weaker tie than party, from the superior readiness of those united by the latter to dare everything without reserve; for such associations had not in view the blessings derivable from established institutions but were formed by ambition for their overthrow; and the confidence of their members in each other rested less on any religious sanction than upon complicity in crime. The fair proposals of an adversary were met with jealous precautions by the stronger of the two, and not with a generous confidence. Revenge also was held of more account than self-preservation. Oaths of reconciliation, being only proffered on either side to meet an immediate difficulty, only held good so long as no other weapon was at hand; but when opportunity offered, he who first ventured to seize it and to take his enemy off his guard, thought this perfidious vengeance sweeter than an open one, since, considerations of safety apart, success by treachery won him the palm of superior intelligence. Indeed it is generally the case that men are readier to call rogues clever than simpletons honest, and are as ashamed of being the second as they are proud of being the first. The cause of all these evils was the lust for power arising from greed and ambition; and from these passions proceeded the violence of parties once engaged in contention. The leaders in the cities, each provided with the fairest professions, on the one side with the cry of political equality of the people, on the other of a moderate aristocracy, sought prizes for themselves in those public interests which they pretended to cherish, and, recoiling from no means in their struggles for ascendancy engaged in the direst excesses; in their acts of vengeance they went to even greater lengths, not stopping at what justice or the good of the state demanded, but making the party caprice of the moment their only standard, and invoking with equal readiness the condemnation of an unjust verdict or the authority of the strong arm to glut the animosities of the hour. Thus religion was in honour with neither party; but the use of fair phrases to arrive at guilty ends was in high reputation. Meanwhile the moderate part of the citizens perished between the two, either for not joining in the quarrel, or because envy would not suffer them to escape.

Thus every form of iniquity took root in the Hellenic countries by reason of the troubles. The ancient simplicity into which honour so largely entered was laughed down and disappeared; and society became divided into camps in which no man trusted his fellow. To put an end to this, there was neither promise to be depended upon, nor oath that could command respect; but all parties dwelling rather in their calculation upon the hopelessness of a permanent state of things, were more intent upon self-defence than capable of confidence. In this contest the blunter wits were most successful. Apprehensive of their own deficiencies and of the cleverness of their antagonists, they feared to be worsted in debate and to be surprised by the combinations of their more versatile opponents, and so at once boldly had recourse to action: while their adversaries, arrogantly thinking that they should know in time, and that it was unnecessary to secure by action what policy afforded, often fell victims to their want of precaution…”

From Thucydides' time to our own, in such a war, the questions are, who are the sides? In this case, it is the Romans vs. the Christians, the people vs themselves and others still, which is one distraction to rule, dominate, buy, and own them all - the realest and largest power generally being invisibility, that which still cloaks the name of our present Civil War, yet, due to the profound crisis and nature, this is why religious-minded types will say "this a fight for America's soul," or them and others like them may cry for peace (an impossibility, especially since this war still retains its presently given names and games). The show will not be over until its participant's energy is dispersed. Others still voice disapproval, disavowal, and preach the dissolving of the state, and seceding from the union, or at least removing themselves far and away from their neighbors and countrymen. This is also both many a liberal's and conservative's concern for increasing state control, all through more technologically advanced and sophisticated means, and meanwhile, invisible power grows as people march towards a future of the leveling of all man, art, and culture, which is to say the equalization of all suffering as predicated on a breakdown of culture, values, and language, due to a now well-founded lack of belief in faith in man, state, and god, yet, the situation is not as simple as a matter of belief and agreement or not, as we are witnessing systematic and social collapse within our larger structures, organizing systems and principles (such as pluralism itself), ranging from the failure of the entire public education system to the state and federal courts, lawmakers and institutions - all of which is beyond both individual and even collective power, except with its blind reactions and rumblings. Within this inevitable decay and rot comes the inevitable decay of a people’s physiology: physiologically speaking, countless Americans are neurotic, pathological, entitled, in search of instant gratification and cheap tricks; they are reactive, blind state slaves, and many are destined to live a life at the bottom of the hierarchy and at the bottom of this present conflict and what will ensue after.

Educationally speaking, Americans are ignorant and remedial by at least a few centuries and even millennia worth of knowledge and relevant wisdom and skill, and our school system is atrocious, as are many of the kids and their behavior and so-called literacy these schools produce. Emotionally speaking, Americans are reactive and unreflective, imbalanced and dysregulated, and culturally speaking, there is no culture (let alone language to represent it) that is actually agreed upon which to found or ground a stable state and the social order it represents in concretized power, and there is no culture that is not largely corporate and governmental at this point in time - all is subsumed into the system and its wars, which the leaders and followers themselves have created. The rallying cry that "the personal is political" isn't just an emphasis on the invisible third party of state in all relationships, but the empowerment of this invisible third party, ranging the entire value structure of America, down to regulating language and ideas themselves.

Absent any real art or philosophy, we do not have a society, a state, or a people. What we instead have are long lines of the last men still feeding and being fed by what is little more than ugly machinery, and there is no way to justify or sustain any of it, and there is no way to or dress this ugly machinery up to make such a catastrophe palatable.

Again, this new American Civil War was, and is, wholly inevitable and wholly unavoidable, and while I could write more, and in many contexts and in regards to more consequences and inevitabilities - from the death of god, the dissintigration and discovery of culture and value, the advent of nihilism, the death of old organizing principles, and much else that pertains to what has been, this present conflict, and what's emerging from it, what is here covers that which is most immediate and pertinent.

As for any Philosophers in this, the Philosopher is for not just state, or any state, but his state. A civil war is no longer a State, it is a series of questions at great costs - who and what will be left, and who and what will emerge? Yet, where are the Philosophers of our state? Out of all the moving pieces both within and beyond the individual's control, there is not a Philosopher amongst the lot of it. Where are the present poets and philosophers to speak on such things? Why am I the one presenting this? Because everyone else has been KIA or is MIA, or they are utter hacks who never deserved the titles “writer,” ”philosopher,” or most amusing, “thinker,” to begin with. Arguably, these aforementioned dignitaries are doing what they know how to do: make money. More apparent, is that most were dead on arrival, hardly living to have been killed in the first place. Most have already been ground to dust within the machine, or are so infatuated by it, they must continue their own petty and pedantic feeding by and feeding into the machines, to their own tiny and petty ends, and man, especially these last men, remain a less worthy goal than ever before. More damning, hardly a single American poet or philosopher has been able to tell what has been transpiring over the intervening years since god’s death, and that this moment has been centuries in the making. These blind men, these so called thinking men who attempt to lead Americans and discuss these matters with others, do not know what is happening, and they know even less on what will continue to happen, but they have seized upon this collapse that they hardly recognize as a means to milk every last greedy second for all that it is worth, because they feel it in their bones, correctly, that this will not last, and they are right: them, their teachings, the tiny profits they can wager before the fall, and this present collapse and war will not last, but one thing remains the same. Man is not the aim, he is a bridge, or as Emerson wrote, “You take the way from man, not to man.” These present American men are neither goals nor aims, but a dead end, and sadly enough, not for a lack of trying by many a hand and mind. Their end goal and aim, whether they understand it or not, or lie about it or not, is for life to not be lived or loved, but life as a meaningless and relative object to be controlled. Their aim, is the world and man in a straitjacket, wired directly into the machine.

Take care of yourselves and one another out there.
